Alan Jackson sings about that desire many of us have in his song Honky Tonk Dream: “Chasing that neon rainbow...’cause all I ever wanted was to pick this guitar and sing. Just tryin’ to be somebody, just wanna be heard and sing.... The trifecta! Playing guitar takes a lot of attention since both of our hands are doing different things at the same time. But adding singing to that is the third thing that has derailed a lot of our best-laid plans. Steve has been singing all his life and playing guitar for about 50 years, and doing both together for as long as he could play. For this live class he shares the principles and exercises that have helped him and his private students chase that neon rainbow. Knowing musical notation is NOT a requirement for this class. Experience humming or singing in the shower and playing some chords in the first position is helpful.
